1. KEEPING SALT FROM CLUMPING IN THE SHAKER
When the salt in your salt shaker gets hit with even the tiniest amount of moisture, it tends to clump up, and that makes it annoying to shake out. Putting a few grains of uncooked rice in your saltshaker will prevent salt from clumping up over time. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the shaker.
2. SAVE WET ELECTRONICS
Rice is great at absorbing moisture. If you happen to drop your phone or other electronic device in water or just get it wet you might want to give this a try. Remove the battery if possible, and then place all wet pieces of the device in a bowl of uncooked white rice and leave it overnight to absorb all the moisture.
3. SOOTHE YOUR MUSCLES
Soothe aches and muscle strain with a homemade hot compress. Fill the clean sock with the uncooked rice, leaving enough room for the grains to move around and be able to conform to your body. Tie the end of the sock tightly with string and microwave it for one minute. Now your hot compress is ready for use. This works so well because rice is great at maintaining temperature.
