There is no doubt that traveling to distant places changes your perspective on life and broadens your mind to new life opportunities. 1. Tour d'Afrique – Do you have 4 months to spare? Are you looking for adventure? Do you want to get fit while you travel? If you answered yes to all of those questions then this is the perfect adventure for you. You'll cross Africa from North to South, covering nearly 12,000 km (7,500 mi) The route? Piece of cake! from Cairo, Egypt  to Cape Town, South Africa. If you don't have 4 months to spare but still want to take part on the journey you can also ride from several checkpoints along the route. The cost? $13,900 for the full route, if you want to ride for parts of it the cost would be $1,400 onward. Along the route you will see everything you can imagine: the ancient pyramids, Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti Plain, and the Ngorongoro Crater, and the world's highest sand dunes in Namibia.  The countries? Botswana, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, and Zambia. It is truly the ultimate long distance bicycle competition featuring 94 cycling days, averaging 123 km each, broken up by 25 rest days and 2 days of ferry boat travel for a total of 121 days.

2. The Mongol Rally – 10,000 miles of pure adventure driving through mountains, deserts, unseen places, and some of the most remote terrain on the planet. These guys not only have created one of the most exiting races on Earth, they made it difficult too. The route? Well there's no set route you have to take, this is the fun part, you can pick your own route as long as you get to the destination – From the UK to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. You could drive through the Arctic Circle, through Central Asia, or drive through Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan, you make your own route where anything can happen. The rules? Aside from the destination, you must drive a car less than 10 years old with an engine size under 1 Liter, it may seem difficult but considering that once you get to Ulaanbataar your car will be given to charity I wouldn't recommend driving the race on a brand new Hummer. The cost? Aside from all the money you'll spend on gas, food, shelter, and souvenirs, £980 to enter the race which takes care of documentation needed to enter Mongolia, parties, and tracking equipment so that your friends and family know where you are. Excited? Check out this video!

3. Banjul Challenge – This is the perfect adventure for those who have 2 – 3 weeks to spare, don't want to spend that much money, and are craving to see far distant lands and visit exotic locations. This challenge is not a race, it's the perfect chance for you to drive to a distant land, enjoying a few beers with fellow challengers, and pretty much having a great time! You'll start in the UK and finish in Gambia. There's no specific criteria for the vehicle that you must use, however, each vehicle will be donated to the Control Committee in the Gambia, so try to get a car that'll get you there but won't set you back economically. Once you donate your car you'll be able to book a flight to the UK for a discounted price. The fee is £375 per car and the dates are December/January of each year.

There are 5 different races in which you can participate, The Mumbai Xpress, the Deccan Odyssey, the Tamilnadu Run, the Classic Run, and the Malabar Rampage, all of which will be full of great adventures, challenges, and unforgettable experiences. The cost? depending on the challenge you want to do, it'll cost from 1125 € to 1750 € and the time it'll take you to finish the race will be depending on the challenge as well, from 7 – 14 days.
